About Rhonda

Exercise means many things to many people. That’s why no one routine works for everyone.

I see all of my clients as individuals and the fitness programs I create for them are just as unique as they are.

Personal goals, body types, fitness levels and flexibility are evaluated to create a personalized workout.   I meet with clients before the sweating begins to figure out what they want and what will work best for them.

Goals are continually reassessed. Routines are changed. Fitness should be fun.

My clients have included ambitious athletes preparing for marathons and century cycling events, cancer survivors, high school athletes, weekend warriors, skiers, moms, dads and all ages. I have worked with Dena Melinn, who has competed in five Winter X Games.

It’s not just about muscles. The needs of a person’s whole body are addressed. This includes talking to clients about everyday lifestyle choices including nutrition.

I bring my love of scuba diving, dancing, cycling, and more recent interest in competitive swimming, to the exercise arena. Breathing, flexibility, stretching, diverse workouts – they are all part of the process of reaching fitness goals. I strive to inspire my clients for gradual, long term lifestyle changes that will enable them to continue independently.

My mission is to provide safe, effective, affordable and stimulating workouts for each of my clients. My approach is holistic, knowing that the body, mind and spirit must be healthy for optimal health.

My first certification as a personal trainer was obtained in 2003 through Aerobics & Fitness Association of America (AFAA). I furthered my education by earning an advanced Personal Trainer Certification through Lake Tahoe Community College in 2005.

In 2003, I became Pilates mat certified in the Stott Method through YMCA of the USA. I continue to advance my skills on the Reformer and other Pilates apparatus by continually working with Rosemarie Ottman of Mind/Body Fitness.  In 2007, I worked hard to secure certifications in aerobic kickboxing through IFTA and Schwinn Indoor Cycling.

I have been an instructor at Lake Tahoe Community College for three years and am currently teaching the Fitness Assessment Course as part of their Personal Trainer Certification program.

I am an alliance member of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM).

I am a graduate of Tacoma Community College where I earned an Art and Sciences degree in Business Administration and Management in 1997.

Continuing education is a personal necessity. It keeps me fresh and allows me to bring cutting edge techniques and the latest trends to my clients.
